Hilton Cancellation Policies

 

Everyone should have seen the recent announcement regarding the change in cancellation policies for the Hilton family of hotels:

 

In order to improve our short term availability, Hilton will update the default house ‘cancel’ policy to 48-hours (72-hours in select locations) at participating Hilton properties throughout the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada, beginning on July 31. The update will occur on all channels, including the GDS for participating hotels.

 

So how does this affect our bookings?

 

  • <Any NEW bookings made July 31st and after, will be subject to the new policies of either 48 or 72 hours.
  • <Any bookings made prior to July 31st, will not be affected, and will subject to the cancellation policies that were in place at the time the booking was made.
  • <Any corporate negotiated rates will remain subject to the cancellation policies stipulated in the existing contracts.
  • <KEEP IN MIND, that if a booking is being made during a high-demand or special event period, a more restrictive cancellation policy may be put in place by a property.

 

There is a dedicated Travel Leaders Group agent helpdesk in place for those that have reservations impacted by extenuating circumstances, where exceptions to the policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis: 1-855-420-4842.

The Luxury Hotel Program provides agents specially negotiated amenities at upscale hotels and resorts in the U.S., Europe, South America and Asia. Amenities might include room upgrades, complimentary meals, spa and golf credits, in-room gifts; as well as discounted services and room rates as much as 35% off.

New 2012! All rates and amenities are now available using the CLQ Access Code.

Over 16,700 hotels have negotiated leisure rates available via you CRS under rate code CLQ.  Participating hotel chains with CLQ rates are:

  • Choice (all brands)- 6250+ , dynamic pricing – 5-10% less than corporate

  • Destination Hotels & Resorts – 34+, 10% off B.A.R. (Best Available Rate)

  • Fiesta Americana – 90+ 10% off B.A.R. (Best Available Rate)

  • Hilton Family – 3585+ consortia rates

The CLQ Hotel Program is designed for your customers that are able to plan their stay in advance, adjust to seasonal rates, and, in some cases, vacation over the weekend and then rewarding them with specially negotiated leisure rates. Over 17,900 hotels are part of this program and these specially negotiated rates are based on availability and are available in the GDS under rate code CLQ.

This program is designed to complement the Corporate Hotel Program.

CRS Access Problems
If you are having problems accessing CLQ rates in the GDS/CRS systems, it is possible you office is not loaded into the viewership table. Please contact Support Services.

Rate Discrepancies
To receive low rates we have agreed to allow participating hotels to yield manage CLQ rates. Please note the hotels understand we need inventory to sell. However, you will not have last room availability on CLQ rates. There may be “fire” sales rates available that are lower than CLQ rates at certain times throughout the year.
